Knowing God

Thank you for taking time to read this page! Knowing God and walking with Him really is the heartbeat for everything in my life: intentional homeschooling, conservative music, and joyful home-making.

If you do not know the God of the Bible personally, my prayer is that you will realize your need for Him, trust Him as your Savior, and start your own walk with God.

Let me share a little about my great God with you.

God is my Creator.

Psalm 139:13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.

God perfectly formed me in my mother’s womb, and He knows everything about me. Since God created me, He has the right to ownership in my life. My life is not mine; it is His.

God is holy.

Isaiah 6:3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

God is perfect, pure, and completely separate from sin. Though God created a perfect world, mankind plunged into sin after Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit in the garden. Each and every person is a sinner in need of a Savior. The consequence for sin is death. God is perfect and no sin can be in His presence. In order for me to know God, I need a Savior and an Advocate, the Lord Jesus Christ, God’s only Son.

Roman 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.

God is just.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

God is perfect in all of His judgements, and He must judge sin. Either a person can pay for his own sin in hell forever or he can claim the payment of Jesus Christ for sin.

God loves me.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

God sent His only Son to die for me! My mother’s heart cannot comprehend letting my child die for the sins of a criminal, yet God let His precious Son die for my sins and the sins of the whole world.

God is my Saviour.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

He is the only path to eternal life; He is the only One Who can rescue me from my sin.

One of my favorite passages about salvation is from the books of Acts. A jailer was about to commit suicide when he realized the prisoners were set free, but Paul and Silas begged the man to stop. The jailer then begged Paul and Silas to show him how he could be saved.

Acts 16:30-31 And [the jailer] brought them [Paul and Silas] out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

God keeps me.

John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

If I trust Jesus as my personal Savior, I am God’s child and no one and nothing can ever pluck me out of His hand.

God is my Shepherd.

Psalm 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want.

God leads me, His little lamb, through this life whether in the green pastures of life or the dark valleys. He is always present, caring and loving.

In no way does this short page cover everything there is to know about God or plumb the depths of salvation, but I hope one of two things will happen for you. If you already know the Lord, may you be encouraged in your great God. If you do not know God personally, I hope these verses will whet your appetite to pursue God personally.
